Do you know the Douglas County Forestry has plans to build a new building in the village of Solon Springs?
They have the big bucks to do this while the county has no money to fix many of our roads. How do they do this?
And thinking the Forestry Department is there to protect our trees, their plan is to cut down many of the big pines to make room for this new building.
Do you care? Maybe you should call your county representative or village board members who voted to rezone this property commercial and to close the end of West First Street leading to the children’s fishing pond. I just thought you possibly might be interested in this information.
Editor’s note: Douglas County’s Forestry Department is replacing a structure built in the 1930s to facilitate equipment for managing the forests, which includes the sale of timber products. The county board has been putting aside money for the project for four years to replace the building.
