Superior police are looking for information concerning a report of shots fired in Superior’s East End neighborhood.
During the early morning hours, around 3:45 a.m. today, officers from the Superior Police Department responded to an area of 24th. Avenue East in reference shots fired into a door of a residence there, according to Investigations Sgt. Rick Hughes.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was cleared and deemed safe to begin investigating the incident.
Officers were eventually able to interview the young adults at the home. Officers did observe what appeared to be shotgun pellet holes in a door leading into the residence. The homeowner was out of state at the time of the incident.
At this point, it is unclear what the motive is, Hughes wrote in a prepared statement. The young adults that were present believed an acquaintance of theirs was involved and provided that information to law enforcement.
The incident remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
