LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — A man accused in a fatal stabbing at a La Crosse convenience store is being held in jail on $1 million cash bond.
A La Crosse County judge set bond for Mitrel Anderson Wednesday when additional deputies staffed the crowded courtroom. The 25-year-old Anderson is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Demario Lee.
Authorities say Anderson stabbed Lee in the head during an argument outside the men's bathroom at a Kwik Trip Sunday. The La Crosse Tribune says Anderson's girlfriend, Brittany Jones, is jailed on $50,000 cash bond. She's accused of picking up Anderson after the attack and later fleeing to Madison with him.
