ASHLAND — For the fourth straight Saturday night this spring, the scheduled opening-night program at the ABC Raceway had to cancel due to inclement weather.
Unseasonably cold temperatures and a drizzly forecast forced the hand of those who run the stock car racing dirt track just south of Ashland. The popular Kids’ Meet the Drivers Night program, to have been presented by Little Caesar’s Pizza of Ashland, will be slated for another date later in the summer.
The ABC Raceway’s 2013 racing season will once again attempt to get underway on Saturday, June 8. The grandstand and pit gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps are scheduled to begin at 6:15 P.M., and the first race of the season is set for 7 p.m.
Admission tickets for adults (ages 13 & older) are $10, while fans ages 12-and-under are welcome for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
Prior to Saturday’s race program, “Race Night” will provide up-to-date track news and weather information live on WBSZ, 93.3 FM, and online at www.wbszfm.com, from 4:30 TO 6 p.m. The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road.
For race day information call 715-682-4990, or log on to the track’s website, www.abcraceway.com.
