A suspect is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting in Superior on Thursday afternoon.
The victim of the shooting, whose identity was withheld late Thursday night, allegedly shot himself.
That turned out not to be true, despite initial reports made when the incident was reported to 911.
Evidence and investigation into the shooting revealed it was a homicide, according to Superior Police Chief Deputy Nicholas Alexander.
During the course of the investigation a suspect was identified and he has located at the Allyndale Mote in Duluth. The Duluth Police Department and its Tactical Response took the suspect into custody shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday.
The suspect, a male believed to be 41 years old, is lodged at the St. Louis County Jail on a Douglas County warrant for first-degree intentional Homicide.
The name of suspect was withheld Thursday night. The investigation is ongoing and no further details were released.
