James W. Hill, 70, of Superior passed away at the Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Monday, May 20, 2013 after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 26, 1943 in Maple to Edwin and Elsie Hill. Jim served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, on the Great Lakes, for a short time. He then went on to work for Georgia Pacific (formerly Superwood) for 38 years as a millwright, before retiring in 2005.
Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers with family and friends. He especially liked spending time with friends and family at his favorite taverns. Jim was a member of the American Legion, Bong Hofstad Post 409. Jim will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry Hill; and stepfather, Arthur “Art” Olson.
He is survived by his sons, Scott (Gloria) Hill and Michael (Debbie) Hill; granddaughters, Courtney and Mariah; brothers, Walter (Terrie) Olson, Kenneth (Gale) Olson, Roger (Belinda) Olson and Gary Olson; sisters, Susan (Don) Gustafson, Sandra (Duane) Seikkenan, Shelly Liska, Sharon (Walter) Mitchell; and special friends, Florence “Flossie” Minotte and Pamela (Pam) Laughlin; many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Visitation from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, May 25 at First Memorial Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.
