Studies have shown that it is as effective as traditional CPR with mouth-to-mouth. If you see a teen or adult suddenly collapse, call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the victim’s chest to the beat of the Bee Gees song “Stayin’ Alive.”
That can nearly double or even triple the victim’s chance of surviving, according to the heart association.
CPR classes are offered at many sites in the Twin Ports. For more information, go to www.heart.org.
