A special, famous guest appears at the 2013 Northern Lights Fine Arts Festival on Thursday with concerts at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Ian Falgout will accompany a fourth grade song on guitar. As an international touring and recording musician and producer, he has appeared on MTV, vh1, ABC and worked with bands and members of bands Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot, the Beach Boys, Windsor, Talking Heads, Ugly Kid Joe, REO Speedwagon, Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night, the Neville Brothers and many more.
This year’s concert features folk songs and dances. Some students enjoy singing along with an additional guitar player, Tim Johnson, a third grade teacher at Northern Lights.
The performance order of the grade levels is not necessarily numerical, and has not yet been decided. You can look forward to drawings for gift cards or spring plants at the very end of each concert. You must be present to win.
Families and friends who plan to arrive early or stay late will be able to enjoy the art work displays in the main hallway loop around the school. Check out the amazing creativity and detailed work of our Northern Lights students.
Don’t forget about the PTA café. Expect the same quality lunch and treats as has been the case in the past.
