Superior All-Stars host Team Duluth

The 34th annual Superior vs. Duluth Women’s All-Star Bowling match, as well as the 4th annual Superior vs. Duluth Senior All-Star match, are at 1 p.m. Sunday at Landmark Lanes.

The 34th annual Superior vs. Duluth Women’s All-Star Bowling match, as well as the 4th annual Superior vs. Duluth Senior All-Star match, are at 1 p.m. Sunday at Landmark Lanes.

The event features the regular all-stars squaring off as well as the senior stars.

Members of the Superior All-Stars are Vicky Schold, Rhonda Feller, Lezlee Nelson, Jan Christianson, Julie Meysman and Pam Savoy is the team’s alternate.

Members of Superior’s Senior All-Stars are Cathy Meysman, Barb Hoag, Debbie Tyson, Angie Gucinski Sue Olson and Gordee Cain is the team’s alternate.

Superior leads the all-star series 17-16 while Duluth leads the Senior All-Star series 2-1.

Following are bios of Superior’s all-star team members.

Superior All-Stars

Vicky Schold

Schold averages 204 in the On the Limit League at Stadium Lanes in Duluth. She is the first women in Superior to bowl a 300 game and has a high series of 759. Schold has also been Superior’s bowler of the year twice, won the Rose Bowl three times and in a member of the Superior Hall of Fame. She has bowled in all but one all-star match.

Rhonda Feller

Feller has a high average of 201, has a high game of 300 and a high series of 742.

Lezlee Nelson

Nelson averages 197 in the Bud Lite Classic League at Village Lanes. She also has a high game of 298, a high series of 750 and has bowled in seven all-star matches.

Jan Christianson

Christianson averages 191 in the Friday Nite League at Landmark Lanes. She has a high game of high series of 705 and is a member of the Superior HOF (meritorious). Christianson has also coached the high school team and has bowled in 14 all-star matches.

Pam Savoy

Savoy averages 182 in the Jack’s/Capri League at Landmark Lanes. She has a high game of 289 and a high series of 766. Savoy is also a Superior city tournament champion, in doubles with Schold and as a member of a team. She is a Superior HOF member, meritorious and superior performance. This is her fourth all-star appearance.

Julie Meysman

Meysman has a high average of 192, a high game of 278 and a high series of 700. She is also a member of the Superior HOF for Superior Performance.

Seniors All-Stars

Cathy Meysman

Meysman averages 174 in the Friday Nite League at Landmark Lanes. She has a high game of 279, a high series of 717and the high average for Superior. She is a past city champ in singles and team and it the first women in Superior to bowl at 700 series. Meysman is a member of the Superior HOF, superior performance, and has bowled in more than 20 all-star matches.

Barb Hoag

Hoag averages 186 in the Budweiser Classic league at Village Lanes. She has a high game of 290 and a high series of 760. She has won city titles for team, doubles, mixed team, mixed doubles and all-events actual. Hoag is a member of the Superior HOF for both meritorious and superior performance. She has bowled in 19 regular all-star matches and three senior matches.

Debbie Tyson

Tyson averages 182 in the Landmark Lucky Ladies League. She has a high game of 277 and a high series of 684. She was a member of a doubles city title and is making her first all-star appearance.

Angie Gucinski

Gucinski averages 179 in the Jack’s/Capri League at Landmark Lanes. She bowled a 300 game last week and has a high series of 708.

Sue Olson

Sue Olson averages 175 in the NB Hooters league. She has a high game of 283 and high series of 686.

Gordee Cain

Cain carries an average of 165 in the NB Hooters League at Village Lanes. She has bowled in three all-star matches and has a high game of 256 and a high series of 637.

Team Duluth

All-Star Team: Nicolle Mattson, Kitty Harvey, Renee Randa, Theresa Jacobson, Brandi Hasforth and Dana Dallum.

Senior All-Stars: Cindy Levy, Elaine Haglund, Denise Hanson, Bernie Chandler, Collen Hasforth.
