The library is closed March 28 and March 29 for the spring holiday.

The next Friends of the Library next meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Library’s Classroom. The Friends are busily preparing for the annual book sale April 26 and April 27 and would love volunteers to help. Membership forms are available at the library, or you can join online through the library’s Wishlist at superiorlibrary.org.

The Friends are accepting donations of books and audiovisual materials in good condition for the sale. Donations can be dropped off to the library service desk during regular hours.

Have you yearned to see and hear what Africa is like? Gather with us for an enjoyable evening of “African Memories” at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library’s classroom. Library staff member Linda Olson will be sharing slides, memories and information from her recent safari and church building experience in East Africa.

Parents, consider registering your child for the Safety Awareness for Our Kids program 2-4 p.m. March 27 in the Library Meeting Room. Children ages 3-11 will learn valuable lessons on how to stay safe and feel empowered. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and registration is required by calling the library at 715-394-8866. The program is supported by the Superior Police Department, Douglas County Human Services, Superior Public Library, CASDA, National Bank of Commerce and Citizen Watch Capt. Mike Almond.

The library has started a “Craft of the Month” in the Children’s Room. This month, children will be creating their very own bunny puppets. Supplies and directions are available from the Children’s Librarian any time during the month of March. Also, stop by the Children’s Room desk during March to enter our Guessing Contest. How many rocks are in the jar? If you are between the ages of 0-12 and have the closest guess, you could be a winner.
