SAREA hosts seminar for WRS participants
The Superior Area Retired Educators’ Association will host a free seminar for participants of the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Superior Middle School, 3626 Hammond Ave., Superior.
The Superior Area Retired Educators’ Association will host a free seminar for participants of the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Superior Middle School, 3626 Hammond Ave., Superior.
The focus will be the Wisconsin Retirement System benefits and options. The seminar is geared to all WRS participants who are planning to retire or beginning to think about it. The presenter from the Wisconsin Retired Educators’ Association (WREA) will be Roger Byers, a former benefit specialist with the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF).
WREA, which was organized in 1951, is a statewide association of over 15,000 members. It is recognized for protecting the public pension fund and promoting public education. With a central office in Middleton, WREA maintains a strong lobbying presence by representing views of retired educators.
