LeSage, O’Shaughnessy selected youth Optimists
Emily LeSage and Matthew O’Shaughnessy, juniors at Superior High School, were selected as the Superior Optimist Club Youth Optimists for February. LeSage participates in SHS gymnastics and track.
Emily LeSage and Matthew O’Shaughnessy, juniors at Superior High School, were selected as the Superior Optimist Club Youth Optimists for February.
LeSage participates in SHS gymnastics and track. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Superior/Douglas County Youth Leadership program. She volunteers for Special Olympics bowling and gymnastics. Following high school, Emily’s plans include attending the University of Wisconsin in Madison to eventually become a surgeon. She is the daughter of Terry and Tina LeSage.
O’Shaughnessy participates in SHS basketball, soccer, football, track, FBLA, and forensics. He is a graduate of the Northland Foundation Youth Leadership program and a member of the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle Youth Group. He plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire after high school to pursue a degree in journalism and music production. Matthew is the son of Neal and Sandra O’Shaughnessy.
The students have been joining the Optimist Club for weekly luncheon meetings. They will have the opportunity next fall to apply for a $1,000 service award sponsored by the club.
