Calumet seeks air permits for maintenance project

Calumet Superior LLC submitted to the Department of Natural Resources permit applications, including plans and specifications for construction and operation of modifications to fluid catalytic cracker processes, an improved catalyst stripping section and additional C3 collection, and the naphtha splitter to be conducted during the 2013 plant maintenance turnaround.

Air pollution construction permit numbers are 12-DCF-226 and 12-DCF-257.

DNR has made a preliminary determination the applications meet state and federal air pollution control requirements and the permit should be approved.

This type of proposal normally does not have the potential to cause significant adverse environmental effects and the DNR has not prepared an Environmental Assessment of the proposal.
