Laumeyer joins Red Cross board of directors

James A. Laumeyer, Duluth, joined the board of directors of the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross, announced chapter chair, Col. Penny Dieryck.
Laumeyer is founder and chief executive officer of Laumeyer Human Resources Solutions, a human resources and labor relations consulting business in Duluth. He has held a variety of leadership positions in Minnesota, serving as president of the Duluth Airport Authority as well as the Minnesota Public Employer’s Labor Relations Association.
He has been a member of the boards of the Society of Human Resource Management and the Duluth Transit Authority.
He teaches courses in Human Resources and Labor Relations for the University of Minnesota Duluth, and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from UMD.
Laumeyer received the 2007 St. Louis County Volunteer Excellence Award.
“Jim’s addition to the Red Cross board is adding a new and dynamic dimension to the Northland Chapter that will help us to continue to grow and better serve the community,” said Judy Hanne Gonzalez, executive director of the Northland Chapter. “We are delighted he has decided to come aboard.”
