The Superior High School gymnastics team ended its season Saturday at the Chippewa Falls sectional meet.
Superior finished fifth of seven schools with a score of 129.1. Eau Claire was the top finisher with a team score of 141.475.
Individually, a number of Spartans just missed advancing to state.
Jessica Engstrom finished one place from qualifying on the uneven bars. She took sixth with a score of 8.575. Giselle Sziron tied for seventh on floor with a 9.325. The top qualifier was Brittany Martin of Chippewa Falls with a 9.450.
In the all-around, Sziron finished eighth and Engstrom finished tied for 14th. Tay Boykin also had a strong performance on the balance beam, finishing eighth; and Dawn Ferfon finished 16th in the all-around.
