The scoring records fell. The Superior Cathedral Panthers piled up a single-game school record with a 90-51 win over Winona Cotter, the 1952 Minnesota parochial high school champs. Ray Birch scored a record 44 points, eclipsing the 37-point mark set earlier in the year by Dave Tucker. Birch hit on 21 field goals and two free throws. Tucker added 15 points and the Panthers improved to 19-1. (1953)
