Daniel G. Pendergast, 58, of Superior, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at St. Luke’s with his family by his side, after a short battle with cancer.
Dan was born July 30, 1954, in Ashland, Wis. to Daniel and Geraldine (Basely) Pendergast.
Dan worked at Jeno’s Pizza where he met his wife of 33 years, Kathleen and were married in April of 1979. After leaving Jeno’s, Dan found his niche in the restaurant and catering industry. Starting at Parkland as a cook and proceeded to becoming the proprietor of Nemadji Clubhouse for over 13 years. When Dan wasn’t working and enjoying feeding everyone his delicious food. He loved spending extra free time hunting, being outdoors and working on the yard. He enjoyed time with his family and friends laughing and making the best of every moment. He was a member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Pendergast and sister, Natalie Ayers.
Dan is survived by his wife Kathleen of Superior; son, Michael of Superior; daughter, Amy (Travis Tyson) of Superior; sisters, June (David) Pesek of Lessburg, Ga., Lynn (Mark) Simonson of South Range, Wis. and Shannon (Richard) Sevigny of Granger, Wash.; granddaughter, Taelynn and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service on Saturday, Feb. 23rd at Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN 55807.
