The “Writer’s Reaching Out Mid-Winter Reading” begins 1:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Solon Springs Community Center, Business Highway 53 in Solon Springs.

Join local authors by the fireside with a cup of hot cider and get to know them. You will meet our special guest, Solon Springs Poet Laureate Kay Karras, now in her 90s, who has been writing for as far back as she remembers. The event includes a reception with refreshments and harp music.

Readings begin at 2 p.m. The afternoon’s activities also include drawings for door prizes. The reading is open to the public.

Authors are asked to reserve reading slots in advance. Those authors who have published books or created art work are invited to display or sell their work. A limited number of tables are available. Tables and reading slots are reserved first come, first served.

High school English students who may have an interest in presenting their writing are encouraged to participate.

The event is sponsored by Rural Arts Voice North (RAV’N) and the Little Gift House in Solon Springs.

For reservations contact Mary Lu at mary338@centurylink.net.
