Arts have a home at Superior Public Library

Almost 300 guests had a wonderful time at our Love Your Local Artist event on Feb. 8. We were fortunate to view the work of 38 talented artists. Thank you to everybody who attended the event for making it a special evening, for supporting our local artists and for “adopting” a book at the book sale. We would especially like to thank the Friends of the Library for their help and appetizers, and Kevin Hoeschen’s string quartet for their lovely music. Also, thank you to Belknap Liquor & Lounge, Keyport Lounge & Liquor, Superior Public Museums (Fairlawn), Saratoga Liquor, and Ray Nelson for donating products and services to support this successful event.

The Friends of the Library meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the library classroom. Everyone is welcome.

Due to recent legislation related to the fiscal cliff, the library will have no federal tax forms or instructions from the IRS until the beginning of March. However, all the forms are now available at www.irs.gov. The Wisconsin Department of Revenue also has tax forms at www.revenue.

Our local Artist of the Month is John Thompson, a retired forester, who makes miniature trees out of about 40 different kinds of woods. Come view his trees in the display case on your right as you enter the library lobby.
