Three arrested for Superior car break-ins

Three Duluth residents have been arrested in connection with five car break-ins and thefts in Superior.

The Superior Police Department suspects the three — 22-year-old Linzie M. Crandall, Sean Patrick Saylor, 19 and Heather L. Goodreau, 24 — are connected to recent car break-in and theft incidents at the Arrowhead Pier, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Superior, according to a press release from Deputy Chief Nick Alexander with the Superior Police Department. The Duluth residents are facing preliminary charges of party to a crime of criminal damage to property, theft, and financial card crimes. The charges are the result of a joint investigation with the Duluth Police Department. No criminal complaints had been issued by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office for as of Wednesday afternoon .

The three are accused of breaking out the windows on the vehicles and then removing valuables including credit cards and other banking information, according to Alexander. The credit cards were immediately used to purchase electronic items. It is believed that the purchased items were then traded for narcotics, the release stated.

All three suspects are being held at the Saint Louis County Jail on these charges as well as other charges for property crimes that occurred in Minnesota, Alexander said .

Residents are urged to protect their belongings by not keeping valuable items in their vehicles. If valuable items must be stored in a vehicle then it is advised to store them so they are not readily visible by passersby.
