Welcome to Medicare. If you are new to Medicare or will be eligible soon, this is for you.
Senior Connections will offer more Medicare informational sessions throughout 2013. There will be two sessions held at the Superior Public Library on Feb. 27. The first session will begin at 1 p.m., with an evening session beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening session was added for those individuals wishing to attend after their work day. People age 60 and over who are on Medicare due to disability, as well as people who will turn 65 this year and want information on Medicare, should attend. Presented by Pat Nelson, Senior Connections Elder Benefit Specialist, the informational sessions will provide basic information about the parts of Medicare, costs, benefits, enrollment periods and much more. Each session lasts about 90 minutes and is interactive. Sessions are free and open to the public. Call 715-394-3611 or 715-395-7533 to sign up so that enough materials are available.
Wisconsin SeniorCareRx renewed
On Dec. 27, it was announced that Wisconsin received formal approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), to continue SeniorCare, the very popular State Pharmaceutical Assistance Program, through December of 2015 without any changes to drug coverage. As an added bonus, Medication Therapy Management (MTM) is a new covered service for SeniorCare members. MTM is part of a national trend in healthcare that reimburses pharmacies for value-added services that assist members in managing their medications.
SeniorCare has provided affordable, comprehensive prescription drug coverage to thousands of Wisconsin seniors since 2002. In addition to providing affordable prescription drug coverage to seniors with limited income, it can also be a companion or alternative to Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. If you would like more information about SeniorCare you can visit the Wisconsin Department of Health Services website at www.dhs.wisconsin.gov or call Pat Nelson, Senior Connections Elder Benefit Specialist at 715-394-3611 or 715-395-7533.
