LETTER: Cast your ballot in spring primary

To the Telegram: Feb. 19 is the Wisconsin primary election. Most voters will, unfortunately, not know about, forget or not care about this election. But all elections are important even when they are uncontested or “off-year.” All of us need to get out and vote.

Feb. 19 is the Wisconsin primary election. Most voters will, unfortunately, not know about, forget or not care about this election. But all elections are important even when they are uncontested or “off-year.” All of us need to get out and vote.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has been an embarrassment to the state. Personal animosities, unprofessional behavior, and rabid partisanship by allegedly non-partisan conservative judges have stained the institution. We have an opportunity to change this by electing Ed Fallone. How well he does in the primary is important for his potential victory in April.

Fallone is a highly respected attorney and law professor at Marquette University in Milwaukee. He would bring a fresh voice of civility and integrity to the court. We can expect Fallone to rule on cases based on solid interpretation of the law and not partisan ideology. He is the kind of judge Wisconsin had in the past and is what we need to recover our reputation for clean, honest government.

Tony Evers needs our support for Superintendent of Public Instruction as well. He is the kind of knowledgeable, professional, caring advocate for children that we need in Wisconsin.

Go vote Feb. 19.

Philip Anderson,

Maple
