Yellowjackets and Falcons skate to 2-2 tieUWS hosts UWEC at 7 p.m. Saturday
The University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s hockey team and the UW-River Falls Falcons skated to a 2-2 overtime tie in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association action Friday night at Wessman Arena.
Superior led 2-1 after two periods on goals by Marc Fortin and Joey Massingham, but River Falls’ Adam Cardwell scored with 3:36 remaining in the third period to force overtime, which saw the Yellowjackets outshoot the Falcons 4-1.
Drew Strandberg had 25 saves for UWS and Scott Lewan stopped 26 shots for UWRF.
Willie Hess also scored for the Falcons, who play at St. Scholastica Saturday. The Saints defeated UW-Eau Claire 3-0 Friday night.
The Yellowjackets host UWEC at 7 p.m. Saturday.
