There will be two webinars each month beginning in February. The webinars cover a variety of topics relating to water and the environment. The first webinar, “Smart Salting,” begins at will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday and covers winter salt application tips for homeowners.
The second webinar discusses hazards posed by improper disposal of unwanted, unused or expired medications at 10 a.m. Feb. 28.
Webinars are live online presentations. Participants will view a presentation controlled by city personnel. They will also be able to hear and interact with the speakers live.
After the webinar has concluded, a recording of the session will be available on the web to view at any time.
Registration for the webinars is located on the designated webinar website, www.ci.superior.wi.us/webinar.
The webinars are free, but participants should register in advance if possible. The website will have a schedule of upcoming webinars as well as archived past webinars. There is information about the webinar series on the stormwater blog, www.superiorstormwater.blogspot.com.
As incentive, residents who participate in the webinars, we will be giving away a free rain barrel to one lucky participant in June. For every webinar you attend, you will gain one entry in the drawing. The rain barrel giveaway is made possible by a grant from the Walmart Foundation.
