A car fire that spread to a garage early Monday morning in Superior caused about $22,500 damage. No one was injured.

The fire at 2131 Banks Ave. was reported at 3:53 a.m. Monday, according to Superior Battalion Chief Scott Gordon. It started in a car and spread to a one-car garage. Both were a total loss, Gordon said, and both were insured. All three fire halls and the battalion chief responded to the fire and cleared the scene after about an hour and a half.

The fire, which Gordon said is suspicious in nature, remains under investigation.
