State Senator Bob Jauch, D-Poplar and Representative Stephen Smith, D-Shell Lake have announced a series of community roundtables with local government, school district, and economic development officials in Barron County on Feb. 15 and 16.
The roundtables will provide the Northern Lawmakers an opportunity to discuss issues important to Barron County as the new legislative session gets underway. The public is encouraged to attend these informal, open-dialogue discussions. The lawmakers are looking forward to meeting with constituents and learning more about the issues facing them.
“With the Governor planning on announcing his state budget on February 20th and a number of important pieces of legislation already introduced, this is a good time to sit down local leaders and hear their thoughts on the upcoming legislation session,” said Jauch.
The meetings will also provide newly elected Representative Stephen Smith an opportunity to meet with constituents and local leaders from the 75th Assembly District.
“A democracy fails when its citizens do not become involved. Please share your ideas and concerns for Wisconsin with us at these listening sessions,” added Smith. “My door is always open and I want to hear from you.”
Meetings will take place Feb. 15 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Cumberland City Hall and 2:30-4 p.m. at the Clear Lake Village Office. Meetings will take place Feb. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Prairie Farm High School and 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Chetek Community Center.
