Tigers ninth at HON wrestling tournament

The Northwestern Tigers finished ninth in the Heart O’ North Conference Wrestling Tournament Saturday at Ladysmith.

Cumberland won the team championship with 232.5 points. The host Lumberjacks were second with 217 points.

Leading the Tigers were Jackson Doller, who was fifth at 160 pounds; and Josiah Vik and Quentin Seger, who finished in sixth place at 138 and 285 pounds, respectively.

Up next for the Tigers is the WIAA regional tournament at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spooner. The top two wrestlers in each class will advance to the sectional meet Feb. 16 in Somerset.
