A couple of important reminders from the desk of Lance Boyle, BS
The following is another “Have Fun or Get Out of the Way” column by award-winning Don Leighton and Mike Granlund and their alter egos, Lance Boyle and Billy Pirkola, which runs occasionally in The Superior Telegram.
This Saturday, on Groundhog Day, Grizzly’s in Superior should be your destination for fine dining and helping others. Owner Rick Lampton is donating 15 percent of the food sales and his incredibly generous wait staff is donating 100 percent of their tips to “Hunger Takes no Holiday.”
This promotion will be for the entire day, so please come in and enjoy great food, hospitality and be proud of the difference you and Grizzly’s will make in the lives of so many.
For each dollar raised, $10 worth of food will be created by Second Harvest Food Bank. This food will be provided to 11 different non-profit agencies in Superior/Douglas County that provide food assistance to those who need our help.
Thanks and have a great Saturday.
Hoop action
What a great week of basketball we have, beginning at 7 p.m. today, at the University of Wisconsin-Superior with the nationally ranked Yellowjacket women hosting the UW-Stout Blue Devils.
Superior enters the game with an all-time best record of 16-4 and looks to avenge one of its losses to Stout earlier in the season.
Let’s fill the gym and cheer on this incredible team. If you can’t make it, the game can be seen on ifan.tv.
The team is currently ranked No. 26 in the nation according to D3hoops.com.
The ’Jacket men and women will be hosting UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. The men’s game begins at 1 p.m. and the women’s final home game of the regular season begins at 3 p.m.
Have a great week of basketball watching.
