The Superior High School girls hockey team finished the weekend with a pair of losses on the road, falling to Onalaska 8-3 Friday night and Hudson 6-5 Saturday.
“I think we played a good game — just made a few mistakes that Hudson capitalized on, and we ended up on the wrong side of the W,” said Spartan coach Ernie Harker.
Against Onalaska, Sadey Laurvick, Amanda Hinaus and Paige Gilbertson scored for Superior. Justine Stenberg finished with 28 saves and Kari Miller, Gilbertson and Kali Krivinchuk had assists for the Spartans.
Stenberg also finished with 28 saves in the Spartans’ 6-5 loss to Hudson.
The score was tied 1-1 after the first period, but Hudson but taken a 3-2 lead after the second. Laurvick tied the score at 3-3 with an unassisted goal, and the score was again tied at 4-4 and 5-5. Hudson then made the game-winning shot at 15:19 and held off Superior for the win.
Miller and Laurvick finished with a pair of goals, and Hinaus had one.
The Spartans travel to Silver Bay on Thursday and then return home Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game with Chippewa Falls.
