Superior Police are investigating stabbing incident that took place Monday evening at 1614 N.16th St. in Superior. One adult male, age 32, was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery for a knife wound to the chest, according to a release from Sgt. Derrick Hughes with the police department. Hughes said that the man was recovering and in stable condition Tuesday morning.
At about 10 p.m. on Monday, the Superior Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting some sort of stabbing incident at 1614 N. 16th St. A second 911 call came in from a nearby restaurant where the victim had run to seeking help.
The Superior Fire Department along with Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the victim’s location where life-saving efforts were performed. The victim was stabilized at the scene and immediately transported to a Duluth hospital where he was scheduled for surgery. It is unclear at this time if the injury was self-inflicted or not. The victim lives at 1614 N. 16th St., Hughes said.
At this point it appears that all parties involved in the incident have been accounted for and at least initially interviewed. This is an ongoing investigation in the very early stages so no further details are being released as information is still being gathered and pieced together, according to Hughes.
