Douglas McCall, 72, Superior, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.

Douglas McCall, 72, Superior, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.

He was born on Jan. 29, 1940 in Negaunee, Mich.

Doug graduated from high school in St. Louis Park, Minn. and went on to receive his degree in police work from the Police Academy in Minnesota.

He was previously employed as a police officer for the Ramsey County Police Dept. Later he was the owner/operator of C.D.S. Interiors selling furnishing and decorations for 10 years. He also owned and operated Superior Rolls and Rems Carpeting from 1985 to 2002.

Doug was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed trap shooting and loved Lake Superior.

He married Alice Larson on Aug. 2, 1975 and celebrated 37 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by one half-sister, Sue (Chuck) Boogrem, Clio, Mich. and one half-brother, Rodney (Sandy) McCall, Sheboygan, Wis..

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 916 Hughitt Ave., on Thursday, Jan. 31. The memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. with Major Rosemary Matson and Connie Maki officiating.
