SHS gymnasts finish second at River Falls Invite

After a long break, the Superior High School gymnastics team competed in its first meet of the new year Jan. 12 at the River Falls Invitational.

The Spartans finished second in the silver division with a team score of 123.125. Stewartville took first place with a score of 127.475. Also competing in the silver division were Centennial, Grantsburg, Irondale, Menomonie, Red Wing and River Falls.

Individually, Giselle Sziron had a very strong meet, finishing second on floor, third on bars and fifth on vault. Tay Boykin finished sixth on vault for the Spartans.

Superior is back in action Saturday at the Hudson Invite.
