A sex offender will be moving into a residence less than a block from the Superior Public Library next week, according to a news release issued by Deputy Chief Matt Markon with the Superior Police Department.
Phillip E. Bacon, 37, will live at 1620 N. 16th St. on a temporary basis, according to the release. Bacon was convicted of second-degree sexual assault in 1999. According to Markon, Bacon sexually assaulted a 15-year-old female acquaintance. He used force and was violent. As part of his sentence, he was ordered to remain on the sex offender registry for life.
In 2002, Bacon was convicted of false imprisonment, first-degree recklessly endangering safety and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He has been incarcerated since then in the Wisconsin Prison System.
Bacon is scheduled to be released from Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution Tuesday and be under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office.
Based on the nature of Bacon’s offenses, the community is being notified of his release and residence.
