Cable area artists’ works on display
Cable Hayward Area Arts Council offers two new exhibits. At the Weiss Community Library, “Barn Again” features pictures in watercolor, oil and photography celebrating the old barns of yesteryear.
Cable Hayward Area Arts Council offers two new exhibits.
At the Weiss Community Library, “Barn Again” features pictures in watercolor, oil and photography celebrating the old barns of yesteryear. Participating artists are Julie Friermood, Carol Anderson, Mimi Crandall, Diana Randolph, Charlene Peterson, Joan, Pedersen, Catherine Sebek and Lorrayne Wick.
A reception for the opening of the exhibit runs 3-5 p.m. Saturday. The public is encouraged to attend. The exhibit can be seen at the library through the end of April.
The exhibit at the North Woods Clinic is titled “Anything Winter” and celebrates winter in the Northwoods. In this show, awards were given in several categories:
• Julie Friermood for Best Use of Color for a photo of a bright red cardinal.
• Charlene Peterson for Best Travel Photo depicting the Alaskan Range.
• Marilyn Swanson for Best Winter Landscape with a nicely rendered snowy river scene in oil.
• Vicky Zalatoris for Best Winter Mood with a watercolor of wolves walking across a snowy field.
This show can be seen through the end of March.
