State art contest offers creative opportunity for kids

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Aeronautics encourages children ages 6 to 17 to showcase their artistic talent by participating in its annual statewide poster contest.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Aeronautics encourages children ages 6 to 17 to showcase their artistic talent by participating in its annual statewide poster contest. This year’s theme is “My Favorite Air Sport.” Examples of air sports include ballooning, hang gliding and parachuting.

The top three entries in three different age divisions will advance to the national competition, with the potential to be entered in the international aviation art contest. In addition, statewide winners will receive the following prizes. The first place winner receives a $100 art supply gift certificate or an airplane ride for two. The econd place prize is a $75 art supply gift certificate. The third place winner will receive a $50 art supply gift certificate.
