Superior police investigate fatal crash

The Superior Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at the intersection of North 28th Street and Hill Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Superior Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at the intersection of North 28th Street and Hill Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, a northbound pick-up truck traveling along Hill Avenue was reported to have made a left-hand turn across the path of a southbound semi-truck.

The crash resulted in the death of the passenger in the pick-up truck and injury to the driver. The driver was transported by ambulance to Essentia Medical Center in Duluth. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

Names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of relatives, Superior Police Chief Charles LaGesse stated in a news release issued around 8 p.m. Thursday.
