Elizabeth "Betty" Finckler, 88, of Hugo, Minn. passed away Dec. 18, 2012, surrounded by family.
Loving Mother and friend.
Betty was an only child born on March 2, 1924, in Superior, Wis. where she resided there until 1989, when she moved to Minneapolis to take care of her grandchildren. Betty later moved to Hugo in 1999.
She was a devoted wife, Mother and Grandmother who was a dedicated employee at Lignell Drug Store. Earlier in life Betty enjoyed biking, time at the cabin and all activities associated with the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Betty was a fantastic baker and cook who loved baseball, playing cards, reading, holidays and watching anything on the Hallmark channel. Betty's passion was her family and she never missed an event that her children or grandchildren participated in.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Hugh and sons Charles and Daniel.
Betty is survived by children Diane Kiszewski, Pat (Barb) Finckler, Jeff (Mary) Finckler; grandchildren Eric, Kyle, Scott, Curt and Jason as well as four great-grandchildren.
Friends may gather at 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at St. Genevieve Church, 7087 Goiffon Road, Centerville, Minn., with a memorial service at 1 p.m.
Any memorials are asked to be sent to Mary and Robert Johnson, 7933 24th Ave N., Hugo, MN 55038. Mary and Bob run a very loving and caring adult daycare facility that Betty attended for six years. They also sponsor programs that help the disadvantaged of all ages in many different situations.
