Essentia Health in Duluth is setting up a walk-in flu booth to meet the recent demand for flu vaccine.
Flu shots will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, and 18 in the lobby of the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic First Street Building, 420 East First St. No appointment is needed.
Influenza is widespread across the country and here in the Northland. Essentia Health flu experts say it’s not too late to get a flu shot. It’s recommended for anyone age 6 months and older. Fortunately, this year’s vaccine is a good match for the strains that are circulating in the community.
The cost of the flu shot is covered by Medicare Part B, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies. It’s a good idea for patients to wear short-sleeved or sleeveless clothing when they come for their shot.
