Lehikoinen wins 132-pound weight class, Spartans fourth in own wrestling classic

Ladysmith finished first in the Superior High School Spartan Wrestling Classic Saturday in the SHS gym.

The host Spartans finished fourth in the 10-team event and the Northwestern Tigers were seventh.

Individually for Superior, Tyler Lehikoinen won the 132 weight class and Nick Long (106) and Jake Jaques (138) both finished second.

For the Tigers, Jesse Make finished first at 195 and Luke Jarman (113), Mike Maki (138) and Blake Nevin (145) all finished second.

The Spartans, who wrestled at Chetek Tuesday, are at Spooner on Jan. 17.

The Tigers will compete in the Merrill Invite on Saturday.
