The Superior High School boys hockey team defeated the Proctor Rails 6-0 Friday night in Proctor.
The Spartans scored twice in all three periods and outshot the Rails 32-8.
Jesse Polson and Mitch Anderson scored in the first period for Superior. Anderson’s goal was the first varsity score for the freshman defenseman.
Beau Reder and Dane Sislo scored in the second period and Tyler Nystrom and Aaron Wakefield-Zubiate scored in the third. Wakefield-Zubiate’s power-play goal was assisted by Polson.
Zach Reiswig picked up the shutout in goal for Superior, finishing with eight saves.
Superior improves to 9-3-1 overall and 1-0 in the Lake Superior Conference. Proctor falls to 3-8-1 and 0-2.
Superior’s back in action at Duluth Marshall at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
