Oshkosh snaps UWS six-game win streak

The University of Wisconsin-Superior women’s basketball team had its six-game win streak snapped with a 61-41 loss to UW-Oshkosh Thursday night at the Kolf Sports Center in Oshkosh.

The loss drops UWS to 10-3 overall and 3-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

UWO improves to 11-2 and 3-1.

Superior led by four points three minutes into the game, but then trailed 31-15 at the half. The Titans outscored the Yellowjackets 30-26 in the second half.

Kristen Nett and Sally Linzmeier led UWS with nine points apiece. Linzmeier also grabbed nine rebounds, Connie Urbanski had seven points and Allyssa Lindberg six.

Katie Kitzke led Oshkosh with 13 points. Heather Conroy added 12 points and Katelyn Kuehl had 10 points.

Kitzke (1,000) and Urmanski (1,002) scored their 1,000th career points 30 seconds apart.

UWS plays at UW-Platteville at 3 p.m. Saturday.
