Jarrod Peterson scored 19 points and Johnquez Brooks added 15 as the University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s basketball team overcame an 11-point halftime deficit to upend the College of St. Scholastica Saints 64-59 Monday night at Reif Gymnasium.
The Saints led by as many as 14 in the first half, but Brooks’ long-range 3-pointer sliced the Yellowjackets’ deficit to 39-28 at the break. UWS took advantage of St. Scholastica’s cold shooting in the second frame to pull away for the nonconference win.

Brendan Bauer contributed a double-double for the Yellowjackets (5-8) by scoring 10 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.

The second half saw the Saints make just two field goals in the first 14 minutes, including going without a field goal for over nine minutes.
A Tester layup made the score 44-34 in favor of CSS with 15:33 on the clock.
The Yellowjackets followed that by scoring 19 of the next 22 points for a 53-47 lead. During that time, CSS committed a flagrant foul and had a technical foul.
Tester cut the lead to one with four minutes to go, but the Saints committed an intentional foul, which led to a four-point possession for the ’Jackets and a five-point lead. UWS closed out the Saints from there, winning 64-59.
The Saints (2-8) shot just 22 percent in the second half to finish at 34 percent for the game. The Yellowjackets finished at 36 percent for the game and made nine 3-pointers. CSS was 3-for-19 from beyond the arc.
