LeMae M. Urbaniak, 83, of Superior, passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, under the care of her family and Essentia Hospice.
LeMae M. Urbaniak, 83, of Superior, passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, under the care of her family and Essentia Hospice.
LeMae was born in Siren, Wis., on Sept. 13, 1929, to Lee and Mabel (Silver) Martin. Early on, the family moved to Superior where LeMae graduated from East High School in 1947. On April 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Urbaniak.
LeMae worked for several Superior businesses. Early on, LeMae ran the religious education program at St. Francis Catholic Church and later worked for the state unemployment office and UWS where she retired in 1992. After her retirement she was very active with the Literacy Program.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son Robert in 1972; and infant twin brother and sister.
LeMae is survived by husband Robert of 62 years of Superior; children, Daniel (Denise Charles) and Patrice (John) Davy, both of Superior; Terri (Bill) Burns of Plymouth, Minn., Joni (Bill) Trettin of Superior, Joel of Colorado Springs, Colo., Steven and Paul (Heather) all of Superior; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with two on the way; and many other extended family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Essentia Hospice.
Memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 E. Fourth St., Superior. Services entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, 218-624-5200.
