ECE offers youth tour apps for D.C. trip

The Rural Electric Youth Tour is a journey through history, a glimpse of government in action, peer fellowship at its finest, and according to a 2012 participant, “one of the best trips you’ll ever go on.”

The Rural Electric Youth Tour is a journey through history, a glimpse of government in action, peer fellowship at its finest, and according to a 2012 participant, “one of the best trips you’ll ever go on.”

ECE offers this seven-day, all-expense-paid educational trip to Washington, D.C. to high school juniors and seniors. The cooperative will sponsor two students on the tour June 14-20.

To be eligible, a parent or guardian must be an ECE member.

As part of the application process, students write an essay on a topic provided by ECE. Finalists are interviewed by a panel of judges and the top two students will each receive the trip to Washington, D.C.

Information on the tour is available at eastcentralenergy.com. Interested students may request an application packet by email at cindy.rolain@ecemn.com or call 800-254-7944, ext. 2022. Completed applications and essays are due at ECE’s Braham office by 4:30 p.m. Feb. 15.
