Ambassadors pick 2012 lighting winners

The Douglas County Holiday Lighting Contest winners received their awards Thursday. In all, 24 area residents participated in the annual contest, sponsored by the Chamber Ambassadors. The ambassadors donated $5 per entry to the Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse. Winners were selected in the following categories:

Master’s Division: Dee Fetters, 2729 E. Third St.

Ambassador’s Choice: Al and Sue Chesky, 425 31st Ave. E.

Best Use of Lights: Brett DeFoe, 2101 E. Third St.

Spirit Award: Pat Kelly, 1830 E. 10th St.

Country Division: Brian and Kristie Christensen, 8494 E. US Highway 2, South Range

These beautiful displays have truly captured the Christmas spirit and are well worth a drive around town to view with your family and friends, the ambassadors wrote in a press release.
