A Superior-based manufacturer was recognized for innovation by Construction Equipment magazine.

The magazine announced its annual Top 100 New Products in the December 2012 issue, recognizing the year’s most innovative new construction equipment and related products.

Genesis Attachments’ GSP scrap grapples were among the ancillary equipment recognized this year.

According to Construction Equipment magazine, Genesis Attachments was recognized for adding two larger size scrap grapples, bringing its number of models to six and increasing handling capacity. The grapples feature identical hardened steel bearings with dust seals at pivot points to keep contaminants out, a heavy-duty guard system to protect cylinders, internal components to protect the rods from damage and a hydraulic cylinder to maximize clamping force.

The latest in the lineup are capable of handling 2 and 2.5 cubic yards of materials. Other sizes range from 0.75 to 1.5 cubic yards.

First published in 1990, the Top 100 New Products list is the longest-established and most prestigious product recognition program in the construction equipment industry.

Featured products are grouped in eight categories — heavy and light earthmoving; trucking and hauling; paving/compaction/concrete pumps; lifting and material handling; drilling and trenching; light equipment; and ancillary products.
