Lutheran Social Services announced the recent hiring of Marcia L. Domecq to join its counseling clinic in Superior.
Domecq’s past work experience has included positions at Douglas County Human Services, the Human Development Center and most recently Northwest Journey Day Treatment Program.
She was awarded her master’s degree in counseling by the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1993 and is licensed as a clinical social worker, a marriage and family therapist, and a substance abuse counselor.
“Marcia comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the specialty areas of play therapy, crisis intervention and at-risk children and families, while working in a variety of clinic settings over the past 30 years,” said Clinic Supervisor John Ball. “Her expertise in working with a wide range of youth and families with an equally wide range of complex problems and needs has set her apart as one of the most skilled therapists in the region. Being dually-certified in the areas of mental health and substance abuse will allow us to build our AODA program by providing chemical dependency assessments and out-patient group therapy services. We are thrilled to have her join our clinical team here at LSS.”
The Superior LSS office is at 33 N. 25th St. Call 715-394-4173.
