Lakeside fire leaves two displaced

A fire in the town of Lakeside left two adults out in the cold Saturday. The fire destroyed one travel trailer and damaged one right next to it on the 9200 block of Schiff Road.

Lakeside Fire Chief Nova Nordrum said there were four travel trailers on the property, but there is no permanent residence at the site. While the department called for mutual aid, she said, the other departments were told to stand down.

The American Red Cross is assisting the two displaced adults with food, clothing, shoes and seasonal clothing, according to a release from the organization. It was one of three separate fires the Red Cross responded to over the weekend. The others occurred in Proctor and Gilbert. The Proctor duplex fire displaced three adults and two children; the Gilbert fire destroyed a single family home and displaced one person.
