Habitat ReStore accepts the following new and usable items:
Building materials: Drywall, flooring, shingles, lumber/millwork, siding, nails and screws, etc.
Cabinets and fixtures
Furniture (not upholstered): Chairs, desks, tables, bed frames, etc.
Doors and windows- unpainted or post-1978
Kitchen: Sinks, fixtures
Bath: Tubs, sinks, toilets
Lighting: Light rixtures, ceiling fans
Countertops
Electrical: Hardware and supplies, fluorescent fixtures
Plumbing hardware and supplies
Tools and hardware
Paint, stain, and wallpaper (new, unopened containers) Make sure they haven’t been frozen.
Shelving
Woodworking materials
Habitat ReStore cannot accept the following:
Upholstered furniture
Mattresses
Appliances older than 10 years
Cracked or incomplete plumbing items
Scrap wood in lengths under 6 feet or that is twisted or splintered
Clothes
Toys
Books, unless building-related
Shower doors
Garage doors and openers (must be new in box)
Unframed glass or mirrors
Exercise equipment
Electronics: Printers, televisions, computers, etc.
Waterbeds
Used blinds or curtains
Partitions
Used carpeting
Commercial doors
Florescent bulbs, unless in package and new
Baby cribs and baby items
Items that may contain lead based paint
Volunteers are on hand each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help unload your treasures and issue a donation receipt.
Contact the Habitat office at 218-722-3875 for directions to 1621 Broadway St. or guidelines for what is accepted. This is not a substitute for the landfill - if you wouldn't buy it we can't sell it. All proceeds go towards the elimination of poverty housing in the Twin Ports.
