UWS celebrates winter graduates

More than 200 students receive diplomas when the University of Wisconsin-Superior holds its Winter Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Marcovich Wellness Center.

More than 200 students receive diplomas when the University of Wisconsin-Superior holds its Winter Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Marcovich Wellness Center.

Chancellor Renée Wachter presides over the ceremony and presents diplomas to students who have earned associate, bachelor and master’s degrees. The university will grant about 210 bachelor’s degrees and graduate degrees.

Keynote speaker Rick Sordelet, is a UWS alumnus, nationally recognized fight coordinator and choreographer for stage, film and television productions.

Delivering the student address will be Meghan O’Toole-Gott of Apple Valley, Minn.

Logan Amys and Trent Van Damme of Superior will serve as marshals who lead graduates into and out of the commencement ceremony. Each year two marshals are chosen from among the junior class based on highest scholastic standing.

William Morgan, professor of visual arts, is the faculty marshal who will lead faculty to the ceremony. He has taught at UWS since 1965.
